Health

​Although the Havanese tend to be a relatively healthy and long lived breed I would like to make aware some of these health problems they may inherit or develop.  Our dogs are fully tested over and above the requirements for a CHIC# so we have the assurance that we have done our due diligence.  Our goal among all others is to do the best we can with health and temperament.  Structure is as equally important but without the first two we end up with only a good looking dog with possible health issues and possible temperament problems.  We know that we are doing our best to produce healthy and sound fun loving puppies.  Please ask about our health guarantee!

The following links are our minimum routine tests on all our breeding dogs:

Companion Animal Eye Registry (CAER)
Cardiac Disease
Patellar Luxation
Elbow Dysplasia
Hip Dysplasia
Legg Calve Perthes Disease 

These tests are not required, however, if we see a need due to history in the pedigree or reasons the vet may see we will test for the following:
Hearing (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response)
Bile Acids
Thyroid Health
Sebaceous Adenitis in Havanese
